5.11 Varsity Boys Track at Districts

The varsity boys track team placed third, with 97 points, on Friday, May 11th, at Gilbert at the district track meet.

“I think that all the sprint runners ran very well and that Sam Abraham did very well in the long jump. The distance and middle distance events did well, too, but fell just short unfortunately,” said runner Elliot Frideres.

Nevada qualified each of the following performances for the state track meet this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Drake University in Des Moines.

-second place in the 100 meter dash, ran by Jakob Strottman, with a time of 11.53

-second place in the 200 meter dash, ran by Caeden DaSilva, with a 23.20

-second place in the 400 meter dash, ran by Carter Franzen, with a time of 52.83

-first place finish in the 400 meter hurdles, ran by Joven Nelson, with a time 54.19

-first in the 4×100 Meter relay, with a time 43.75, ran by DaSilva, Jensen, Strottman, and Nelson

-first in the 4×200 Meter relay, with a time of 1.30.64, ran by DaSilva, Abraham, Strottman, and Nelson

-Sam Abraham with a first place finish in the long jump with a ‘20’ “7”

-first place finish in the 800 Sprint Medley, with a time of 1.34.40, ran by DaSilva, Jenson, Strottman, and Nelson.
