4.25 JH Girls Track @ Perry

On Thursday, April 25, the junior high girls track team traveled to Perry to compete on a nice evening against Perry, Saydel, and ADM.

Nevada’s 7th grade team took home seven first place finishes against some great competition.

Kylie Taylor won the 100 meter hurdles in 17.55.

Mady Gibson took first for the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.05.

Olivia Axmear, Kennedy Long, Reagan Davis, and Tori Meinecke ran a 5:06.74 in the distance medley relay to take first place.

Emma Strottman, Meinecke, Graci Schiller, and Taylor took first in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:19.36.

Strottman won the long jump with a distance of 13′ 5.25″.

Schiller won the shot put with a distance of 24′ 2.5″.

Nevada’s 8th grade team also took home seven first place finishes that night.

Allison Kruzich won the long jump with a distance of 12′ 8.75″.

Lily Goos won the shot put with a distance of 22′ 9″.

Natalie Barber won the 800 meter run with a time of 3:02.68.

Barber also won the 1500 meter run in 5:58.77.

Kruzich, Davis, Meinecke, and Strottman won the 4×100 meter relay in 55.01.

Avery Hinson, Emma DePenning, Bridget Cahill, and Stephanie Lopez won the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 5:08.2.

Lopez, Hinson, Goos, and Kruzich won the distance medley relay with a time of 5:15.96.

Lori Stephenson said, “We had really gutsy performances and wins by Natalie Barber in both the 800 and 1500 meter runs. She set new PRs in both. Cece Scarff and Cassidi Bartmess also continue to run well in the distance races. Scarff set a new PR in the 1500 and Bartmess did the same in the 800.”

The next meet the junior high team run at will be the conference meet at North Polk on Friday, May 3.
