On Thursday night, January 31, Nevada took on Roland-Story in Story City. The girls JV basketball team had a hard fought loss against the Norseman, 27-40.
Mayzi Weig and Maddie Dunham both had seven points for the team. Ella Higgins had four points.
Despite the loss, the girls had great teamwork and executed their offense very well. They ran a lot of great plays and got many points off of them but unfortunately the girls didn’t come out with the win.
“I think we played to our best potential,” said Weig. “Even though we lost, we played our hardest. We executed plays, and it came down to a close game.”
The Cubs played a strong season and we’re looking forward to seeing them play next year.
