On January 8th, the 9th grade boys basketball team took on the Newton Cardinals at Nevada.
The Cubs jumped out with an early lead and led Newton 16-2 at the end of the first quarter. The Cubs kept extending the lead and led going into halftime 34-13.
During the third quarter, the Cubs had lockdown defense, only allowing four points and pushing their strong lead to 44-17. Newton fought back in the fourth quarter but the Cubs built a big enough lead to win the game, 57-33.
The ninth grade boys play North Polk on Thursday, January 10th, at North Polk.
