An amazing 6-1, Conference-Title-taking Cubs team had a tough tournament this past weekend on Saturday, October 13. The Cubs played against Ames, Dowling, Waukee, Boone, and Urbandale.

The girls started off with very low energy and focus. Throughout the day I thought each girl stepped up at some point and gave us some great leadership that I look forward to seeing next year,” said Coach Catherine Neuman.

As the day went on the Cubs got better with their energy. These were their last games of the season. They ended the season with great serve receive and started calling open spots on the other teams. The Cubs serving was very aggressive, and they were hitting some good spots at times.

The Cubs beat Urbandale and Boone. Later in the day they lost to Urbandale, Dowling, and Waukee. The girls played fairly well finishing the day 2-3. The intensity picked up throughout the day, escalating and deflating here and there but overall a great weekend for the Cubs JV Volleyball squad. The Cubs volleyball team finished the season with an outstanding record of 24-4! Go Cubs!
