A high energy game led the 9th grade volleyball team to a win against Greene County on October 4. With scores of 21-9 and 21-3, the team played at their highest and were able to defeat the Rams in a two-game sweep.

Maddie Dunham and Katelyn Kingsbury had great nights for serving. Maddie was able to help serve her team to the lead, and Katelyn had very good target serves that got the other team out of system. Serving was a huge part of their game, but so was communication.

The team as a whole had a lot of communication and played well together well because of it. Improvements were made over the course of the season and it showed during this game. The Cubs played a somewhat simple game, but did not play down to the level they were seeing.

“We had the most amount of energy that we have had this year during this game, and it made the game so much fun,” said Coach Abby Hansen.

Even though the team’s season is coming to a conclusion, they are still improving game by game. They play their next and last home game of the season on October 11 against Ames.
