On April 23, the Nevada varsity girls soccer team played Waterloo-Columbus with a final score of 2-1.

Hattie Rhodes started them off with her hustle after a huge punt by Grace Francis and was able to outrun everyone to the ball and chip it in the goal.

Nevada did a great job of keeping Waterloo-Columbus to a low score. Nevada also did a good job of converting on the few shots on goal they had.

While in overtime the girls connected on some short passes and set Hannah Thomsen up for the winning goal.

“It was a big win over the 4th ranked team in the state. We needed to play well, and I think we made big steps forward in our play,” said Coach Randy Davis.
