4.19 HS Girls Track @ Baxter

The Nevada Girls Track team placed third out of 12 teams last Thursday at Baxter.

Coach Ted Johnson said, “I was very proud on how all the girls performed on Thursday night. Anytime an athlete can achieve a personal best (PR) is a win in my book.”

Kacie Rewerts placed 1st in the 1500 with a PR of 5:09.43, and in the 3000 with a PR time of 10:58.41. Gabby Sampson placed 2nd in the 800 with a PR time of 2:42.87. Eliana Hornbuckle placed 3rd in the 1500 with a PR of 5:36.33. Amelea Jones placed 4th in the 400 hurdles with a PR time of 1:19.22 and the 400 open with a PR time of 1:09.78. Madison McGaffin also had a personal best in Discus with a throw of 66-11.

The 4×200 relay team of Caitlyn Sharp, Samara Sharp, Emily Plate, and Sydney Mosinski placed 2nd with a PR time of 1:54.73. The 4×100 relay team of Caitlyn Sharp, Sydney Mosinski, Samara Sharp, and Emily Plate placed 3rd with a PR time of 53.20. 4×800 team of Eliana Hornbuckle, Gabby Sampson, Grace Heiden, and Ryanne Barker placed 3rd with a PR time of 11:12.98. The 4×400 team of Gabby Sampson, Amelea Jones, Madison Davis, and Sydney Mosinski placed 4th with a PR time of 4:39.08. The Distance Medley team of Lesly Abarca,  Mady Farmer, Madison Davis, and Eliana Hornbuckle placed 4th with a PR time of 4:51.98.

“I saw people around the curves cheering teammates on and saw our athletes helping with hurdles to make the meet go more smoothly.   I like to see examples of that Cub Pride anytime we have a meet,” said Coach Johnson.
