On October, 6th the Nevada Cubs played the Grinnell Tigers at Cub Stadium. It was Nevada’s last home game of the season, and it was also senior night. The Cubs ended up getting another district win, 23-9.
Coach Kleeman said "Friday night was a great win for our program and our seniors. We secured a winning record, which everyone is proud of. The weather conditions were not ideal, but we battled through and came out with a hard fought victory where we had to come from behind in the 4th quarter. We showed great resiliency and toughness."
Brendan Sellberg was the offensive leader for the Cubs. He rushed for a total of 100 yards with 12 rush attempts and one rushing touchdown. He also had two receptions for 35 yards and one receiving touchdown. Bronzon Mason was the defensive leader on the night. He had 6 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles, which gave him a total of 7 tackles. He also scooped up one fumble recovery.
The record for the Cubs is now 5-2. The Cubs will be on the road next week against the Norwalk Warriors. The Warriors are 5-2 as well. The Cubs are also undefeated on the road.
