The Dance Team performed their jazz dance "Soy Yo", at the Iowa Wild Hockey game on Friday November 11.
They will also be competing this routine at State team competition on Thursday December 1 at 6:08 pm at Wells Fargo Arena. That same evening, the girls will also compete their novelty routine, "Heroes", at 7:50pm.
The next day, they will again compete, but with their lyrical routine, "The Men That Drive Me Places" at 3:44 in Hy-Vee Hall.
Recently, the Nevada Dance Team hosted a dance team workshop for dance teams from Nevada, Panorama and Collins-Maxwell in preparation for state competition.
The girls will perform one of their routines at the senior night halftime of boys basketball on Friday February 3. We also still have our dance team night to coincide with our kids dance clinic for elementary and middle school kids.
The girls have been very busy with fundraising activities that have already included... July 4th novelty item sales, Lincoln Highway Days bake sale, assisting with ABWA craft fair set up and tear down, a babysitting fundraiser, and are currently working on selling Tupperware. Upcoming fundraisers include our dance team night clinic, popsocket sales and a specialty pasta sale (pasta in various shapes and colors including football teams).
The girls have had a very busy year with volunteer work as well. They assisted with a fundraiser for The Bliss Cancer Center at The Arena by assisting with the kids' WOD (workout of the day). They go weekly to Indian Creek Assisted Living to help with Bingo and nail painting and recently they helped serve around 65 residents and their families a Thanksgiving Meal.
