On March 29, the girls track ran at DCG. They ran on a cold and windy day and performed well.

The girls that did really well were Kacie Rewerts in the 3000, placing second with a time of 11:29.44 and first in the 1500 with a time of 5:23.89.   Addi Vorm placed first in the shot with a throw of 32-07 and second in the discus with a throw of 99-04. Avery Mather placed first in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:23.34.    Emma Griffin placed fourth in the long jump with a jump of 12-10.25. Gabby Sampson placed fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:45.53.

Caitlyn Sharp, Sam Sharp, Emily Plate and Sydney Mosinski were on the Sprint Med, 4×100, and 4×200 teams.  Gabby Sampson, Ryanne Barker, Grace Heiden, and Eliana Hornbuckle were on the 4×800. Amelea Jones, Avery Mather, Madison Davis, and Caitlyn Sharp were on the 4×400 team.  Nevada placed fifth in all those relays, except the 4×400 in which they placed ninth.

“The relay teams may not have placed high at this meet, but their times are on pace to be where they need to be at midseason, and I expect them to do well in the next couple of weeks.  Overall, the girls did very well in the poor conditions and I’m proud of their progress and success that they have had so far,” said Coach Ted Johnson.
